The data, forecasts, maps, visualisations, model outputs, and derived products published through meteo@uniparthenopeare produced primarily through automated numerical weather prediction, scientific modelling, data-processing, and visualisation procedures.
Products may be generated and published automatically without prior human review.
The service is provided for scientific, educational, research, and general informational purposes. It is not intended to replace official meteorological, civil-protection, maritime, aviation, emergency-management, or other safety-related information issued by the competent authorities.
2. Forecast uncertainty
Numerical weather prediction is inherently subject to uncertainty.
Forecasts and derived products may contain errors, omissions, numerical artefacts, processing errors, delays, or inaccuracies and may differ from actual, observed, or subsequently observed atmospheric and environmental conditions.
Model results may also vary according to initial conditions, boundary conditions, model configuration, numerical methods, observational data, resolution, parameterisations, and subsequent processing.
Users are responsible for evaluating whether the information provided is appropriate for their intended use and, where necessary, for obtaining qualified professional interpretation.
3. No official warning or safety service
The information provided by meteo@uniparthenope does not constitute an official weather forecast, meteorological warning, civil-protection alert, navigational warning, aviation warning, emergency notice, or other official document.
It must not be used as a substitute for information, warnings, instructions, or restrictions issued by competent public authorities or officially designated services.
In particular, decisions concerning personal safety, navigation, aviation, emergency management, protection of property, or other safety-critical activities should be based on the appropriate official information and, where applicable, the advice of qualified professionals.
4. Availability and accuracy
The service and its contents are provided “as is” and “as available”.
Reasonable efforts may be made to maintain the quality, continuity, and reliability of the service. However, no representation or warranty is made that the data, forecasts, maps, visualisations, or other information will always be accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for a particular purpose.
The service may be modified, interrupted, suspended, or unavailable without notice, including as a result of technical failures, maintenance, communication problems, unavailable upstream datasets, or circumstances beyond the control of the service operators.
5. Time reference
Unless expressly indicated otherwise, all dates and times published by meteo@uniparthenope are expressed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).
Users are responsible for correctly converting UTC into any applicable local time.
6. Third-party data and services
Some products may incorporate, process, or depend upon data, software, services, models, or other resources supplied by third parties.
The availability, accuracy, licensing conditions, and reliability of such resources remain subject to their respective providers. Reference to or use of third-party resources does not constitute an endorsement of those resources or their providers.
Where applicable, attribution, licensing, copyright, and data-source information associated with individual datasets or products remains governed by the terms indicated for those resources.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, meteo@uniparthenope, CMMMA, the Department of Science and Technology, the University of Naples “Parthenope”, and the persons involved in the research, development, maintenance, operation, and production of the service shall not be liable for losses or damages arising from or connected with the use of, inability to use, interpretation of, or reliance upon the data, forecasts, maps, visualisations, software, or other information provided through the service.
This includes, to the extent permitted by applicable law, losses resulting from inaccurate or incomplete information, forecast errors, interruptions of service, delayed information, technical failures, or reliance upon automatically generated products.
Nothing in this disclaimer is intended to exclude or limit liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law, including liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under Article 1229 of the Italian Civil Code or other mandatory provisions of Italian or European Union law.
8. User responsibility
By using information made available through meteo@uniparthenope, users acknowledge the limitations inherent in numerical modelling and automated scientific data processing.
Users remain responsible for determining the suitability of the information for their particular purpose, for considering uncertainty and alternative information sources, and for consulting official authorities whenever the intended use may affect safety, persons, property, navigation, emergency response, or other critical activities.
9. Applicable legal framework
This disclaimer is intended to operate only to the extent permitted by applicable law. Mandatory rights, obligations, and liabilities established by Italian law or European Union law are not affected by provisions of this disclaimer where they cannot legally be excluded or limited.
